FOOD, WINE, AND SUP FESTIVALS FILL THE FALL CALENDAR IN TAHOE

For those of us who live in and around the High Sierra, we all know that the fall season is a special time of the year when the sun continues to shine and as much our annual events.  And this September is no exception.

From the longest inland paddleboard race in the world to the world class Autumn Food and Wine Festival, there is more in store on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe than ever before.

28th ANNUAL FOAM FEST
September 2, 2017
2:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m
Squaw Valley

Enjoy an afternoon of beer tasting and live music on the KT Base Bar outdoor sun deck. Your ticket gives you access to unlimited tastings from over 40 craft breweries and world-class live music by Ozomatli. All proceeds from the event will benefit Achieve Tahoe.

Don’t miss internationally celebrated and hailing from Los Angelos, Ozomatli pulls from a variety of genres, from classic to modern Latino, urban, hip-hop and other world styles on stage during the day.

ALPINE WINE FEST
September 3, 2017
2:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m
Squaw Valley

The 29th Annual Alpen Wine Fest includes wine tasting, live music, a huge silent auction and raffle. Entry into the event is a donation to Can Do MS, a foundation providing wellness and education for people with Multiple Sclerosis. With a donation for your wine tasting ticket, attendees receive a crystal souvenir wine glass and tastings from over 40 vineyards. The event is open to the public.

WOMEN ON WATER
September 8, 2017
8:00 am. – 5:00 p.m.

Join the Wild Women Tribe and take a journey to explore paddling skills through engaging activities on and off the water with Olympic and world class coaches by your side. The day will include Paddling clinics, yoga & meditation, and self-discovery sessions on the beach. Access amazing coaches and learn tactical skills to maximize your paddling experience.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

This year's event will consist of a 3-mile paddle for all levels and ages, a beach festival, SUP Yoga, food & clothing vendors and wellness seminars to benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer.

The Butterfly Effect schedule also includes a community beach clean-up to spread awareness of protecting playgrounds and keeping Lake Tahoe blue.

TAHOE VISTA PADDLEFEST
September 8 – 10, 2017

The world’s longest inland paddleboard race is on tap as part of the second annual “Tahoe Vista Paddlefest” September 8 – 10, 2017.  It’s the finale of the Tahoe Cup Paddle Racing Series wrapped with family-focused events, music, and many more health and wellness activities.

32ND AUTUMN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL

Northstar California

Celebrate Lake Tahoe’s most prestigious food, wine, spirit and brew festival in the outdoor splendor of Northstar California Resort. Celebrity Chef’s hands-on cooking demonstrations, Farm to Tahoe dinner, winemaker luncheons and dinners, food and wine seminars, mixology . . . all topped off with the Sunday Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting.

STRINGS AND CHICKEN WINGS
September 15, 2017
5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

A battle of epic proportions! 6 restaurants and 5 bands will go head-to-head in The Village at Squaw Valley to benefit the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS). Each restaurant will be cooking their own signature recipes for spicy, flavor-packed chicken wings, and joining forces with the region’s best bands to crank the contest to the max. Chicken and music lovers are not going to want to miss a single stop on this around-the-valley face off. Entry is $5 donation.
