Come Celebrate the Secret Season in Tahoe

Every season in High Sierra has its own magnetic features to get us outside to enjoy all the things to do in Tahoe - yet with scenes like this, fall may be our favorite season.

It's that time of the year when the pace is slower, the crowds are few, and the weather is just spectacular.  From fall hikes throughout Desolation Wilderness to mountain biking the Tahoe Rim Trail, taking in a Haunted Kayak Tour on the Lake,   or tasting brews and festive foods at the Battle Born Beerfest & Chili Cookoff and many additional fall events that are on-tap in Tahoe, every day is a play day during the fall season in Tahoe.

In an effort to get you up to the Lake to see and experience the season, we've selected a few of our favorite things to do in Tahoe this fall.   You can see our list below!

For a more substantial list, be sure to read the most recent Blog from the North Tahoe Resort Association "Celebrate the Secret Season".  It's filled with ideas to get you out of your office and into the great outdoors this year, and in years to come.

When you're ready to head to Tahoe, our team at Sun Bear Realty and Vacation Rentals in Incline Village has a long list of ideas on where to stay and how to play this season.  Feel free to contact us at any time - and we'll see you out and about!

Mountain Biking & Hiking The Tahoe Rim Trail

If you have never seen the sights from the paths on the Tahoe Rim Trail, it's time you do.  Just a few miles from most of our vacation rentals and long-term rentals in Incline Village is easy access to some of the most spectacular hiking and biking trails in America.   The non-profit organization has an outstanding website.  This particular link will provide you with a map of the entire Tahoe Rim Trail including trailhead locations, water sources, campsites, and use regulations.

Desolation Wilderness

The Desolation Wilderness is a 63,960-acre federally protected wilderness area in the Eldorado National Forest and Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, in El Dorado County, California. The crest of the Sierra Nevada runs through it, just west of Lake Tahoe. There are endless choices of trails for hikers of all ages and abilities. Right now there are special instructions about obtaining access permits for Desolation Wilderness in the fall so check out their website for complete details.

Haunted Kayak Tour & Costume Contest on the Lake

How's this for a fun idea this fall.  ClearlyTahoe.com is hosting a Haunted Kayak Tour and Costume Contest on October 19th.  Can't make it that day?  No worries.  They offer a variety of very interesting and always fun and educational tours as long as the weather behaves.  From their half-day East Shore adventure to their Sunset and LED Glow Tours, or even private events, this business knows the kayak business more than most right here in Lake Tahoe.

Battle Born Beerfest and Other Fall Events in Tahoe

Help celebrate Nevada Day by joining in the fun at the Chateau in Incline Village for the Fourth  Annual Battle Born BeerFest and Chili Cook-off. This event is a fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline. Tickets include beer and chili tasting and a chance to win a Diamond Peak season pass in the Grand Prize Drawing (the winner need not be present to win). Western dress is encouraged. Country Western music and line dancing will be provided by Vaquera Vikki.
