The Perfect Fall Day in Incline Village/Crystal Bay
There comes a time in all our lives when we all deserve a spontaneous day off. Whether you are visiting the lake, working virtually, or are fortunate enough to live in Lake Tahoe, our staff at our real estate and property management company in Incline Village encourages you to find some much-deserved downtime.
Put away the laptop, shut down the hard drive, and dive into a perfect fall day at the lake. To give you some ideas, we have outlined a sample itinerary from sun-up to sundown.
Good morning!
Just recently, several of our favorite lunch or dinner spots are now offering breakfast – which has been a rare commodity for a while. If you haven’t tried Fumos now is the time to do so. Located on Country Club Drive, this family-run business saw the need to add breakfast to their offerings and they did it right. As have the owners at the new Sage Leaf at the corner of Hwy 28 and Village Drive.
Not into a full breakfast? Maybe enjoy a latte and vege quiche from Sunshine Deli or stop in at the Hyatt’s Tahoe Provisions for a delicious selection of freshly baked goods.
Check out their menus and then get ready for a refreshing day at the lake.
Time to get your morning moving! Before the snow flies, now is the time to take a trek up the trails at Diamond Peak. For a short and scenic hike, follow the Freeway Run to the Snowflake Lodge. Looking for something more rigorous? Keep going – all the way up Crystal Ridge. Then treat yourself to those famous jaw-dropping views. Another favorite and much shorter hike (perfect for families) is to head over to Crystal Bay to enjoy the 180-degree views of Lake Tahoe at the top of the Fire Lookout.
If hiking is not on your preference list, you can fast forward your day and take a mountain bike trek on the newly renovated Tyrolean Trail that we showcased within our last blog. If you don’t own a bike, our friends at the Village Ski Loft (across from our vacation rental and real estate office in Incline) can set you up for a full day on your choice of the miles of trails throughout the High Sierra. For the more extreme, perhaps it’s finally time to discover the famed Tahoe Rim Trail or heck, why not bike all the way around the lake?
Or go climb a rock. A BIG rock. Head on over to Squaw Valley for an experience what it’s like to climb The Tram Face through Tahoe Via Ferrata.
Lunch Break!
Whether you have enjoyed a morning hike or extreme trek on the trails, you have probably worked up an appetite. Dining outdoors in the fall is a real treat so here is a list of some of our best bets for lunch outside, on the deck, or lunch to go in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, NV.

Before the Sun Goes Down …
One of the most peaceful ways to end a busy day is, without question, fly fishing our crystal-clear Sierra streams. Here is one of the best tips for this blog. Connect with Matt Heron Fly Fishing out of Truckee, CA. Matt has established one of the preeminent fly fishing schools in America. There might not be a better place on the planet to learn how to enjoy the serenity that naturally comes with this sport. The novice should check out the variety of packages that he offers through his website. If you have your gear, great. Those who have already captured the passion may just want to call Matt and his team to find out where and when to “match the hatch!”
