TOP 5 THINGS TO DO THIS NEW YEAR'S EVE!

If celebrating the recent snowfall wasn't enough reason for a toast to the new year, North Lake Tahoe is overflowing with some super ways to ring in 2017.

From live music to slopeside fireworks, champagne toasts, snowshoeing and festive dinners, the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association, has put together a list of their top picks.  A short list follows.

For more ideas,  click to the Associations' website right here!

Get your Firework Thrills  ~ What would a New Year’s Eve celebration be without fireworks? Enjoy three shows across the North Shore: Mt. Rose Ski Resort at 5:50 p.m., The Village at Squaw Valley starting at 7 p.m., or Northstar California Resort beginning at 9 p.m.

Celebrate in Style  ~ The Crystal Bay Club Casino is one of our favorite music venues on the North Shore, between the Crown Room and Red Room, a wide range of artists have performed at this lively casino hotspot. Their “NYE In Tahoe” celebration includes headliner, North Mississippi Allstars with special guests, John Medeski & Marc Broussard. After party is with Jelly Bread. Music starts at 10 p.m.; tickets are $50 (plus fees).

For the 21+ folks looking to get fancy, Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows will ring in the New Year with their 13th annual Squaw Valley Prom.

New Year’s is a time for everyone to enjoy. The Resort at Squaw Creek will be hosting separate celebrations for kids and teens with food, movies, and music.

Snow Play ~ Daytime events will be taking place at nearly every resort on Dec. 31, inviting skiers and riders to carve their way through the mountain one last time before the arrival of 2017. Check out Homewood Mountain Resort and celebrate with a champagne toast, live music and s’mores.

Tahoe Donner offers a New Year’s Eve Sunset Snowshoe Tour, followed by libations. Reserve your space 24 hours in advance by calling 530-587-9484.

Get your Yum On! ~ Dinner, dessert, and drinks are a given on the last night of the year… enjoy a feast before committing to a wellness routine in the New Year. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, Granlibakken Tahoe and Resort at Squaw Creek invites guests to dine and give a champagne toast. We highly recommended dining reservations at any North Shore location.

Stay Safe for Another Happy, Healthy Year ~ For worry-free transportation on this indulgent night, take one of the free shuttles provided by Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit (TART). Shuttle service will be available to both North Tahoe and Truckee through 2 a.m. Plan your route!
