Ahh, springtime in the Sierra. And with the clear blue skies, super ski conditions and longer days, the calendar of things to do in Lake Tahoe in the spring gets bigger every year.

SCENIC SNOWSHOE HIKE UP DIAMOND PEAK
Join us for an early morning snowshoe hike at Diamond Peak Ski Resort on Sunday, March 23, 2025 as part of the 2025 Luggi Foeger Uphill/Downhill Festival.
This short and scenic hike will take you part way up Diamond Peak as Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) naturalist, Sarah Hockensmith discusses winter ecology concepts and the survival strategies and adaptations employed by animals from the Lake Tahoe Region. After the hike, grab some breakfast from Base Lodge Provisions and learn more about our wildlife and ecosystems. Pre-registration is required.
Quench your thirst at the Spring Summit Pop Up Bar*, located at the top of Crystal Ridge on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 11am-3pm (last call at 2:45pm). They will have a selection of canned beverages and packaged snacks for sale (credit cards only) with views of Big Blue.
The party continues down at the base on the Loft Bar deck with DJ Xande from 3-6pm.
* The Summit Bar is only accessible to intermediate/advanced skiers and snowboarders via the Crystal Express Chair. Must have a valid lift ticket or season pass and ski/snowboard equipment to load the chair and be able to ski/snowboard down Crystal Ridge. Sorry, no foot loading or scenic lift rides are allowed. Please drink responsibly.
Birthdays only come around once a year, and our friends at the Peak want to make it extra special for every skier and rider so they allow all of their guests to ski for free on their birthday. For those of you with birthdays that fall outside the ski season, they celebrate UnBirthday Day! If your birthday falls outside our ski season, head to the Peak on Friday, April 4, 2025 for a free lift ticket!
Just bring your valid photo ID to the ticket window to receive your free UnBirthday ticket on the Unbirthday Day. For children, please bring a photocopy or photo of their birth certificate.
Spread the word and invite your friends to celebrate with you. Friends who don’t qualify for the free ticket can purchase tickets online to save $10.
Make sure you’re at the Loft Bar by 3pm for birthday treats and more! Even non-skiers can join in on the fun as the Loft Bar is located in the Base Lodge.
Don't' miss this one! It's the annual Dummy Downhill on Saturday, April 5, 2025! This is Diamond Peak’s signature spring event and the biggest party of the year. Even non-skiers will want to come watch the madness! A panel of celebrity judges will evaluate all Dummies on the snow by the Base Lodge, followed by the dummy launch and an awards ceremony. Prizes and certificates are awarded for creativity, best crash, furthest distance, shortest distance, survivor, and new for 2025 most sustainable. For all you advanced riders and skiers out there, this one is for you on March 22, 2025. Every year Mt. Rose hosts it Steep Sixteen event on their famous Chutes. This is not a race, yet a day when camaraderie and personal competitions take place. Do it alone or bring a team and tell your non-slope friends they can celebrate with you at Winter's Lodge in the afternoon. See all the details through this link.
