Save the Date: Sand Harbor Reservations Start January 15, 2025, for Summer Park Use

Following the incredible success of last year’s trial, Nevada State Parks is rolling out a brand-new day-use reservation system at Sand Harbor State Park.

This initiative promises to elevate the visitor experience while safeguarding the park's breathtaking natural beauty. While visiting the charming mountain town in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, you can take as short drive to step into one of the world’s most picturesque landscapes filled with crystal-clear waters, sandy beaches, and striking boulder formations—all while enjoying a streamlined entry process that ensures everyone can enjoy the magic of Sand Harbor!

To make visiting seamless, reservations will be necessary every day during the busy season from April 15 to October 15.

Here are the important details:

Reservations are available 90 DAYS before your desired visitation.

Anyone arriving by vehicle between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. must secure a reservation in advance. For those who miss the window, any unclaimed spots will be up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis after 10:30 a.m.

To cater to all visitors, the reservation system follows a smart three-tiered approach: -

Tier One: Plan ahead and get one of 200 reservations available 90 days ahead of your visit.

Tier Two:  For the spontaneous adventurers, 100 reservations can be booked 30 days prior.

Tier Three: Last-minute planners can grab 50 reservations just 7 days in advance!

Plus, if you're feeling lucky, same-day reservations can be snagged up until 10:29 a.m. without the $5 processing fee.

Mark your calendars! Starting January 15, 2025, you can reserve your spot for those sunny spring and summer days at Sand Harbor.

The day-use reservations have proven to be an effective way to enhance the visitor experience and manage capacity at one of our busiest State Parks

A few more important nuggets to know:

Reservations must be made online, and it's crucial that you’re present in the vehicle with a valid ID matching the reservation.

Entrance fees are $10 for Nevada vehicles and $15 for those from out-of-state, added during checkout.

Got a group? The Ramada/Group Use Area has exclusive parking, and you won't need an additional reservation.

Got a boat? Launching remains on a first come, first served basis.

And for those heading to the Shakespeare Festival, if you're arriving before 10:30 a.m., be sure to grab that day-use reservation—it’s a must!

Remember, if you don’t make it through the gates by 10:30 a.m., your reservation will open up to other eager visitors, but you won’t lose your entrance fee if you arrive later.

With this new system in place, Nevada State Parks is committed to reducing congestion and enhancing the natural experience at Sand Harbor.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore one of the most picturesque parks in the state!
